The final idea came around from one of my own interests “urbexing” (urban exploration) looking around and taking photos of derelict buildings. The spectacle comes from the fact that its imperfect, spectacle conjures up thoughts of perfection or wonderment
Final Photographs.
These photographs (above) are part of my journey home. I arrived in manchester on the train, most of the way there I tried to experiment with the camera and the way it catches light. This first photo is of the reflection in the window of the train. I thought the reflection combined with the lights outside of the train made an interesting combination. The second photo is of the wheel in manchester, its a spectacle in its own right to be honest. In my opinion I think it looks like its too squashed in the triangle where they have put it, but when you forget about its position in manchester and look up (like in this photo) and see how the lighting makes it look so spectacular you just concentrate on trying to get a good shot.
The photos above came from my idea of taking light into places that you wouldn’t find light, like a derelict building, so when I was on the train making my way home, I experimented with my camera and the light, I like the composition of the photos and the way the lights have blurred into one but you can still see my reflection.
This was the first place near to where I live, it’s called Bank Hall, the actual hall wasn’t accessible because it had warning tape and barriers around it, to be honest it looked very unstable and I don’t think if I had the choice I would have gone in anyway. I realised that I had forgotten my tri-pod and had to make do with the photos I had. To be honest I was annoyed at myself and disappointed that I’d forgotten in, but the photos were quite raw in the end and that added to the derelict theme.

These are a few photos I took from around coventry, this is the type of setting I’m looking for only slightly more debris. I want to combine this setting with a christmas tree and everything that goes with it. The lights, the tinsel, the decorations
